Description

A diary of my birding activity covering highlights and photos from my birding adventures. Mainly Norfolk (UK), occasionally beyond. I might mention the odd thing that isn't avian, but for moth and other insect news check out my mothing diary.

The past week

Not much to shout about from the last week.  A few Barn Owls here and there, Grey Wagtail and Red Kite at work and the best bird of the week's lunch breaks: an adult Mediterranean Gull at Coxford.

Most interesting sighting was a Grey Heron at the pond in next door's garden - watched it attempting to swallow the most enormous frog.  Eventually it succeeded, after dipping it in the pond to lubricate it a few times.  While it was still going down the heron spied another frog on the lawn and chased after that, downing that one immediately.
